Vaccination against infectious diseases

Vaccination is a reliable protection against infectious diseases.

Military operations create favorable conditions for the emergence and spread of infectious diseases. Due to injuries during the war, the risk of tetanus is high. Vaccination remains the best way to prevent severe flu, coronavirus disease, and diphtheria and the only reliable way to protect against tetanus.

Specialists of the State Institution "TMA of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Donetsk region" carry out preventive vaccinations of persons eligible for service in the institution with the involvement of mobile teams.

Prevention of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections in the epidemic season 2022-2023 is carried out with the vaccine Vaxigrippe Tetra (Sanofi Pasteur, France). This vaccine provides active immunization against four current strains of influenza virus (two subtypes A and two types B). It is safe for humans (inactivated). Immunity after the administration of the Vaxigrippe vaccine lasts up to 12 months, which guarantees stable protection against influenza for the entire season of viral diseases.

Vaccination with a booster dose against COVID-19 is extremely important in the context of the spread of the Omicron strain, especially during the war when it is not always possible to observe precautions such as distance, ventilation, or wearing a mask.

Vaccinations against diphtheria and tetanus with the ADP-m vaccine are mandatory and are carried out according to the preventive vaccination calendar, which must be followed. Immunity against these diseases lasts about 10 years.  Timely vaccination is very important to prevent the development of these dangerous infections.
