The Department in its activity is guided by the Constitution of Ukraine, the laws of Ukraine, acts of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the President of Ukraine, normative legal acts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and other normative legal acts on the organization of medical care.

The Department organizes the provision of medical and sanitary assistance to persons determined by orders of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The following hospitals (with polyclinic) are subordinated to the State Institution "TMA of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Donetsk region": hospital (with polyclinic) in Mariupol. Mariupol, hospital (with polyclinic) in Kramatorsk, medical (military-medical) commission, the Center for psychiatric care and professional psychophysiological selection, the Center for preventive medicine.

The main activities of departmental health care institutions are the provision of highly qualified and specialized medical care, medical rehabilitation, rehabilitation, and sanatorium treatment to persons determined by orders of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Activities

Following the Regulations, the State Institution "Territorial Medical Association of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Donetsk region" (hereinafter - TMA) carries out

management of the system of health care institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on the territory of Kirovograd region provides medical care to persons entitled to medical care
control over the physical and mental state of health of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and police officers with appropriate correction.
conducting the military medical examination with a psychological and psychiatric examination of candidates for service in the police and training in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, transferring, and dismissing police officers, servicemen, and other persons; conducting examinations, determining the grounds for granting them sick leave, establishing the connection of diseases (injuries) of these persons with the service and/or performance of official duties.
ensuring proper conditions for the effective functioning of the structural units of the TMA in compliance with sanitary and hygienic requirements.
control over ensuring sanitary and epidemiological well-being at departmental facilities.
medical support of the police officers and units of the National Police in the performance of their duties during the period of measures to eliminate the consequences of accidents, disasters, and other extreme situations.
implementation of the achievements of science, technology, and best practices in the work of TMA units.

Following the main tasks assigned, the TMA provides

provision of guaranteed free medical care (to persons entitled to medical care following the legislation and regulations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in health care institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
military-medical examination following the normative legal acts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
conducting psycho-prophylaxis, providing psychiatric care, organizing and conducting medical psychophysiological professional selection following the legislation and other normative legal acts.
organizing preliminary and periodic medical examinations of police officers, employees engaged in heavy work, work with harmful and hazardous working conditions, or those where there is a need for professional selection, annual mandatory medical examination of persons under the age of 21, and persons applying for positions, including positions of civil servants related to the performance of state functions, in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police.
conducting an examination of temporary disability following the established procedure. Implementation of measures aimed at the prevention of morbidity, and temporary and permanent disability of persons entitled to medical care.
determination of the need for medical and social expertise and compliance with the procedure for referral to the medical and social expert commission of persons entitled to medical care.
referral of persons entitled to medical care to other medical healthcare institutions to provide them with consultative and inpatient medical care.
supervising, following the established procedure, the observance of sanitary and epidemiological well-being of persons entitled to medical care at facilities under the jurisdiction of the National Police and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
organization of sanatorium-resort and rehabilitation treatment of persons entitled to sanatorium-resort and rehabilitation treatment in healthcare institutions of the MIA following the law.
introduction of the latest medical technologies, achievements of medical science, and equipment for diagnostics and treatment, introduced by the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and approved by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, into the practice of work of the structural subdivisions of the TMA.
organization, planning, and scheduling of premedical assistance training in the police training system. Interaction with the territorial centers of emergency medical care and disaster medicine on the issues of training police officers and servicemen of the NGU in providing first aid and issuing them certificates.
