During martial law, the prevention of healthcare-associated infections (HCAI) remains relevant. One of the key factors in the transmission of HCAI pathogens is hands. Through hands, a healthcare worker can not only transmit the infection to the patient but also infect himself. Medical workers of the State Institution "TMA of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Donetsk region" took part in a training course on the rules and practice of hand hygiene. Head of the Center for Preventive Medicine of the State Institution "TMA of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Donetsk region" Alexandra Alfyorova spoke about the basics of infectious safety of patients, highlighted the main patterns of transmission of pathogens associated with the provision of medical care and focused on the contact (through the hands) route of infection. The rules and methods of hand hygiene were worked out with medical workers and the most common mistakes were pointed out.
